What you get
These sudoku worksheets print one page each, with a name and date line at the top, one to six puzzles below it, and a sheet number so you can match it to the answer key. Pick the grid size (4x4, 6x6 or 9x9), the level, and how many puzzles per page. Then set the number of worksheets: every worksheet in the set has different puzzles, so a class of 28 can get 28 different sheets, and the answer key for all of them prints after the last worksheet. The puzzles are generated in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, and a set of 30 is usually ready in a few seconds.
The default is one worksheet of two easy 9x9 puzzles. Change the grid size to 6x6 or 4x4 for younger classes; the difficulty choices follow the size, so 4x4 is easy only, 6x6 is easy or medium, and 9x9 goes from easy to hard.
Who these are for
- Teachers who want a starter, an early-finisher task, a cover lesson or a maths club activity with an answer key they can mark from.
- Parents and home educators who want a week of puzzles with a date on each.
- Tutors introducing logic before algebra: 4x4 for the youngest, 6x6 for primary, 9x9 for secondary.
Choosing size and level
| Grid | Suits | Levels |
|---|---|---|
| 4x4 | ages 4 to 7 | easy |
| 6x6 | ages 6 to 11 | easy, medium |
| 9x9 | ages 9 and up, adults | easy, medium, hard |
Easy puzzles can always be solved one obvious square at a time. Medium needs hidden singles, and sometimes pairs or box-line eliminations. Hard needs techniques such as X-Wing. Every puzzle is graded by the techniques it needs and checked by two independent solvers to have exactly one solution, so the answers are the only ones possible.
Reading the answer key
Every puzzle carries a label such as “Sheet 7 · #2 · 9E-1A2B3C4D”: the worksheet number, the puzzle’s position on that sheet, and its ID. The answer pages use the same labels, six answers to a page, so marking is a matter of finding the sheet number. The given digits are printed bold in the answers so you can tell them from the ones the student wrote. If a student loses a sheet, the ID identifies the exact puzzle.
Printing a class set
- Choose the grid size, level and puzzles per page.
- Type the number of worksheets you need, up to 40.
- Press Print, or Download PDF to save the set for later. A set of 30 worksheets with two puzzles each is 30 pages plus 10 answer pages.
Everything fits A4 and Letter without cropping. Set your print dialog to 100 percent scale, or “fit to page” at most, so the name line and the grids keep their size.

The individual pages print without the name line: 4x4, 6x6 and easy 9x9. The large print sudoku page prints one puzzle per page for students who need bigger squares and a bigger answer key.
